Specialising in Sworn Translations from Norwegian into English

(statsautoriserte oversettelser)

Translations to help you get where you want to be.

What is a sworn translation?

A sworn translation ensures that your documents are accurately translated and certified for legal purposes. Each document is carefully translated and includes a signed and stamped declaration, verifying its authenticity. This service is essential for individuals and businesses needing to present official documents, such as contracts, certificates, or legal papers, in a different language, ensuring they hold up in any legal setting.

Who can sign and stamp a sworn translation?

In Norway, translations can only be signed and stamped by a government authorised translator. This is a protected title that is acquired by passing the National Translator Accreditation Exam. Thereafter, the translator acquires their own unique stamp which, along with their signature, is registered with a district court or notary public for verification purposes.

Do you need a sworn translation?

In general, the receiving authority will inform you if a sworn translation is required. If you are unsure whether an ordinary translation will suffice, it is advisable to contact the relevant authority prior to placing an order.
